I don't think I've ever expirenced true happiness. Just depression and nutrual. I remember as young as three wishing I was dead.

I used to be depressed but not anymore. I make $8.90 an hour so 12.50 is pretty good.

Hmm.. You said that most don't "seem happy"... Might that be partly because we don't have a normal range of expression? I know i'm often perfectly content and people will come up to be and say "what's wrong?" or "it isn't that bad!" They might be happy or neutral and just not be expressing it.

At this point in my life, I'm a happy aspie. But it's taken a long time to get to where I am, and I know these good times won't last forever. I'm trying to enjoy them as much as I can.

I'm not sure if I'm an Aspie or not but I am happy NOW.

In my teens and 20s not so much. I had to make drastic changes in my life in order to make myself happy.

I've read that people are at their most content when they are engaged in an absorbing activity that they are interested in. Does engaging in your special interest make you feel "happy" at least for that period of time? It may not be possible to be happy all the time, but perhaps now and then some small thing can be a little uplifting?
