My parents both went to prison when I was a teenager, and I moved in and depended on my grandparents during high school. It was really hard finishing it, and if they hadn't enacted the beginnings of the No Child Left Behind crap that allowed you to test out of your class for credit then I would have failed completely. My family set me up at school about 3 hours north of our hometown and paid my rent while I tried to hold down jobs and school, but it ended up being too much for me to handle and I dropped out of school. This was before anyone in my family knew what I had, so it was seen as a sign of weakness or laziness and I was "cut off".

Since then, my life has been a rollercoaster. I've moved to a different state, lived with a woman for 6 years (that I am still surprised has stuck with me after all my mannerisms and problems) whom I finally married this January, and we have a child. Life is a constant challenge, and I finally found a job that I rarely have to interact with any other humans, so it is much easier than past jobs to hold down. I recently found out what has caused all of the strife in my life, and I'm trying to work through it while restarting school again... we'll see how it turns out this time!

I don't live with my Main family I do
live with my brother tho, he and I always
got on very well, and when I cood not make it,
plus I was in dette to him, I did not ask for
him to bail me out but, bless his soul, he
did and I cannot thank him enough, plus I
just cood not adapt to not having anyone
to play with, I'd get depressed being alone
all the time and had suidide thots, so I
had at least 3 major reasons to move with
my brother.

Now that I been here for aprox 8 years, its
been better than before.

I run a little video editing shop here and it
don't make me rich but at least its a job I
can do.

Yes, but not for much longer. I start college in September and will be living on campus. I'll only be about half an hour away, though, so I'll still come home most weekends.

I live with my mom and my younger sister. I am 25 years old. I just got out of a failed marriage to someone who I met on the internet (on a non-aspie site). It was a VERY short marriage....he dumped me after a couple months. I had told him about my diagnosis... but when we were dating (once a week for a year and a half) he did not have a clear picture of what living with me would really entail... and he got a rather rude awakening. Anyways, I am now finishing my BA in psychology.....this coming year is my last year. My mother is paying for my degree, and I commute to a local university. I am planning on doing my MS in Speech Pathology, (if my grades are still good), the year after. I am planning on doing it at the local university and living at home. The graduate program that I want to do is three years long. I am probably going to live at home until I finish it.

I don't have a job and I am not getting disability. I still get an allowance from my mom once a week.

I still live at home, mainly due to financial reasons. I can't afford to move out, having flitted between temporary work and full-time study.

There was one point in my life a few years back when, in a fit of madness, I was going to move out and put down a deposit for a house - and I came very, very close to buying the place. Luckily my parents managed to talk some sense in me because in hindsight, I would've struggled to pay the mortgage. I would've afforded it but it would've been cutting it quite close.

Then I blew what should have been my deposit on a European holiday so there went my plans!

Yes I do and as embarassing as this is to admit, i'm 40 y/o.

While I haven't lived with them for my entire adult life, i've always been at least partially financially dependent on them. :(

That's okay... I pretty much feel like that's gonna be me, too. It's a good think I love my family. Oh, and they love me too, that's always a bonus. Even though there are certain things about me that they have a hard time accepting.

Hey, that's okay. Sounds a bit like me. I just do everything a housewife does, only I don't have a husband...*sigh*

I live with my parents and younger brother. My parents want me to live with them for the rest of their lives because they really enjoy my company and they genuinely want to take care of me. My sisters have offered to take care of me after my parents die, but I've decided I'll move into an assisted living facility when that time comes, because I really dislike my sisters' respective lifestyles.

I'm on Social Security too, though I'd really prefer not to be.
