A lot of Japanese just say "I can't drink." As many are missing a crucial enzyme which processes alcohol, the highrer-ups buy it. They still have to socialize though. They just drink soda instead.

Nothing serious. They just get really drunk, red, get a headache and get nauseous.

different cultures may be more or less accepting of particular traits, but no matter where you are your core deficits in understanding the rules and reading communication are going to remain.
