I'm still of the opinion that those with 'severe autism' aren't as 'ret*d' as the rest of the world want to label them. They just think on different levels.

But that may be just me ^_^

I think that calling Autism a disease is wroI also think that AS is not that mild as people make out, the social problems can be just as bad.

A therapist on a Yahoo parent group mentioned something very similar - that the spectrum issues that people with AS may have are often not as recognized by parents and teachers like they would be for those with a diagnosis of HFA/autism. Doesn't mean they are not there - just not as obvious.
