Upset when someone says all autism is due to wheat?
I remember seeing a movie years a go with Tommy Lee Jones and Kathleen Turner (or was is Cybil Shepperd- 80s!! !!) that was about a little girl who in her grief over her father's sudden death, "became autistic". Perhaps I don't remember the movie as well as I think, but she was being treated as an autistic child after she closed her mother out and everyone else, went into her own little world, and even developed a savant-type skill/obsession. Of course the other children at the hospital were all like Rainman and mathematical geniuses speaking in primary numbers, etc. Anyway, they "cured" her and this was a point in the movie - that the autism is a mental disease. She had a breakdown from the grief of her father's accident. I wonder why we have not progressed from there much?
I would buy the whole wheat/vaccines thing if there were no cases of autism in third world countries, where they don't have vaccines and usually little to no wheat. Both there are autistics in these countries, so it really goes against that argument. SOnt you think if it were that simple as wheat allergy we would have eliminated new cases of autism?
