Memorising things

Are any of you good at memorising random things? I am currently learning train routes off by heart. I used to know pi to 300 decimal places. During my A-levels I memorised chemistry data tables and when I was in primary school I did things like learning the Beaufort Wind Scale off by heart and all the different types of clouds.
Yes, and unfourtenetly for my obsession (Sports). I watch a Yankee game and without even trying I automatically memorize every batters averageand every pitchers ERA, even as it changes game to game. I don't even try.
Still, when you find an obsession that is useful or that you can make a career out of, then it becomes an awesome ability. It's really what makes Autism a gift and a curse.
I seem to not be able to memorize much of anything I try to memorize. But I can remember things like crazy. From maps, to schedules, to random numbers, conversations, pictures, patterns, etc. I've got an amazing processing speed apparently too (my psychiatrist put me thru a whole bunch of neuropsych tests)....
If, however, i focus all my attention and have a little obsession time with the subject, I can memorize anything I put my mind to!

Wow, that's really cool. I can playback full conversations in my head from years ago, but it takes me like 2-3 minutes to begin to find it and play it in my head. I'm not sure if that's ordinary or not.
