When you make pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Eggs) it takes many, many hours (about 14 for a dozen eggs), you sit with a candle for so long that it feels somehow sacred - repeatedly heating your stylus in the flame, dipping it in beeswax and then drawing on the egg. It's quite intense to engage with a candle flame that much.

I prefer listening to either, but if it's fire, it has to be wood burning only.
If I had to lose either sight or hearing. I would choose sight.

Yep, and yeah for the same reasons. There's something about the flowing, shape-changing, and see-through properties.
When I was a kid it became my duty to start the fire in the fireplace in on cold winter nights since it was so obvious I liked doing it. I used to roll up newspaper into long cones, and then twist the big end shut. Then I'd toss them on the fire and they'd start making smoke/vapor on the inside which would shoot out the small end and create a 6 or so inch jet of flame.
Never had any pyromaniacal tendencies, though. Just like the undulating form. It's probably a miracle I didn't cook retinas, now that I think about it.
