I don't like "aspies"

I like the name. But then, I'm from New Mexico where the Aspen Tree is our major autumn leaf tree and I wear an aspen leaf pin as a visual pun known only to myself (and anyone else who thinks along the same lines I do.)

Also, in Wicca, the Aspen is the tree of the East, and associated with the East is the mind, the intellect, and isn't that appropriate?

One of my circlemates - one of the three of us that another one of us calls "The Martian Sisterhood" (good reasons) asked me about it and I laid a load of Wiccan theory on her with huge emphasis on the intellect.

Asper sounds like trees.

When people like us have been persecuted to the degree that Jews have been, then we should get our own country, which, coincidentally, would likely have the worst diplomatic corps of any nation.

You bark like a dog? So do I. I feel that we should have our own land. That way we won't have to worry about Neuro-typicals violating our civil rights just because our behaviour may be socialy unacceptable by "normal" standards. Just so touretters like myself may settle there as well. Then again with symptoms like barking, and or echolalia, being the same there may not be much if any difference. So long live Aspergia, and it's sister country, "Tourettia".

Yeah! "Butt's Syndrome" -- Now that's a name that I like! Let's call us the Butts.

I have been thinking about this. I have aspergia all modeled in my head, now i just need a place to put it.
I will get started on Tourettia.

There was a lengthy thread on the idea of starting an Aspie republic. If you haven't seen it, well I hate to be the one to break it to you - the country broke down into sectarian violence and military dictatorship before we even decided where and how we were going to establish it. Forget the diplomatic corps - our government couldn't even keep it together!

For me any names goes.

aww, I love the nickname aspie. It's a cute word. aww. Just can't help it.

I actually like the term "aspie". It sounds really nice and friendly to me, and I'm personally proud to call myself that. I understand that not everyone here likes the term though, so I just use "people with AS" when on these boards.

I like the term 'aspie' but i would like some more options.

example when you talk about a man you can say guy, dude, person, male, or man

using just one word is boring.

I like snakes, too. I also like how that name sounds.
