How To Deprogram Your Own Mind
Interesting document, and it warms the cockles of my anarchist heart to read it, to some extent, but like a lot of people the guy goes too far and seems to end up on a guru trip. The advice about relentlessly pursuing truth is extreme - I can see how that might particularly appeal to Aspies, but sometimes I think it's important to be sure the mind is ready for the truth.

I can today actually wish [ people I am/have been angry with ] the best rather than giving them rent-free space in my brain (resentment).

It's interesting you should say that, because although a lot of things that Agent Orange says in the above article and on his site are true, and correct about our being programmed etc ( whether by social constructs or by biology ), and the importance of observing and detaching oneself from automatic beliefs, I too got the impression that A Orange is full of resentment, and that s/he is spending a lot of emotional and physical and intellectual energy on maintaining/justifying and reinforcing it. As if s/he has not yet found out/worked out what s/he is getting out of/gaining from holding onto this resentment ( which will never be as much as it costs them ).
I agree with a great many of their criticisms of certain kinds of belief, but definitely sensed the toxic odour of ( waste-ful ) resentment throughout. As if they haven't in fact followed their own advice. :lol
.
I got the impression that there was programming within the text on how to watch out for programming.
I chuckled to myself several times at the various points in this article that were biased, due to that irony.
But yes I would agree, there is a tone of resentment within. And unfortunately also manipulation due to that resentment. I say unfortunately because it would otherwise be quite a useful and moderately well written article of some merit. There are still useful parts within, so...it's still better than other stuff.
