Alla, I am going to change my answer somewhat, after thinking about it a little more.... I think I DO actually spend most of my time on, or in close proximity to, the internet. My connection is going all the time, and although I might not be in front of the computer every second, I often jump online even in the middle of other tasks because something has occurred to me and I "need" to find out the answer(s).

Just now I've revised my profile so that my location reflects this new self-awareness. :P

That's what I do too. In fact, I am supposed to be running a hoover around the house at the moment but I turned it off because I needed to check a fact online. One thing lead to another, so here I am again

I'm usually on for several hours a day.

I seem to be spending the bulk of my time online recently... I flip flop on this. Some weeks I shun the computer and go for more hands on things like crocheting or jewelry making... other times I ignore the world in stacks of homework. This week I have been all about this website and webkinz. Heh. They have a new tile game I am enjoying... not real productive, but hey, it chills me out.

I used to but not for a while. I don't usually go on the internet now without a specific list of things I want to do. I get a lot more reading, work etc. done now than before. The internet can be an appalling timesink.

I literally can't live without the Internet. I can't believe there was a period in my life that it really didn't exist. When I go out for most of the day I get anxious about "What the hell is going on in the world and the Internet?" I love Wi-fi places where I get it for free on my iPod. My iPod has been being bad right now and is acting like a computer (not working right...what is a working computer anyways? Its an oxymoron!) There are days where I spend 18 hours on it if there is something massive going on in the world. If there is a huge disaster or something along that I have to know every part of it and I go on several forums that can have 100 pages on this subject when it happens. Disasters are one of my obsessions and when I am very depressed I hate to say it but it helps me because it truly puts things into perspective then I wouldn't believe the finger of God is pointed at me and it could be worse. While I am suicidal I almost want the WORLD to end.

Yes, I do, and I don't feel guilty about it. After all the time that I spend now on the internet is the time that I spent reading books when I was younger.

I mainly use the internet to communicate with other people. I enjoy discussions, but my interests are somewhat unusual, so that I've got real problems with someone who will like to simply discuss random topics about politics, science, religion... anything "sophisticated" on a preferably high level. And furthermore I usually need time to think before I can give an accurate answer, and feel much more at ease if I'm communicating online.
I see it as the easiest way for me to socialize and get the hang of communicating in a socially accaptable way.

But I'm currently trying to cut down a bit.

I have always been a scholar, and the internet is like a wet dream come true. It's like having 24/7 access to all the libraries in the world, and I don't have to search through stacks of books and flip pages to find what I'm looking for.

I used to own many thousands of books in my personal library. Since going on the internet in 1995, every time I've moved since then I cut my library by half at least because I don't need them anymore. I can find more up to date information and search it easier on the internet. I know there's a lot of garbage information out there, usually more garbage than not, but then a lot of books had printed garbage too. Those dang humans!

As an artist I have had an official web site online since 1997, with my own domain name since 2000 or so. I post original songs and essays I've written on many subjects. I have a YouTube channel but need to be filmed and recorded more in order to post more videos.

I have chatted some, but until I found WrongPlanet chat I didn't fit in well anywhere. I don't care much for online games. My special interests are like my "games" and when I have a breakthrough in understanding some topic it is like beating the "boss" of a level. I love Wikipedia, Amazon, ebay, and YouTube. These are great! I also get all my news, TV shows, and movies from the internet. Yeah, I don't know what I would do without it. So far as I can tell, it's not going away. I just hope it doesn't become so regulated and censored and taxed that it's no longer affordable or useful. I also don't like using public computers to access it because I have to go out around other people and my sensory and social issues make that unpleasant. I hope my computer doesn't die anytime soon and that I will be able to replace it soon if it does die.

The internet is indeed a godsend to the information addicts. It's better than spending half a day at a public library only to find the book you want is either checked out by someone else or has food and drink stains and other sticky assortments throughout the pages or the book is at another library and I can either go there myself or have it sent over, which takes a few days. Internet has made researching that much easier and convenient.

I probably spend most of my time on the internet. If I'm not reading a book, playing a video game, watching documentaries, shopping or going to a concert I'll be on the internet.

I get stuck on these forums. Then there is Facebook and Twitter that I just have in the background. And I have my little topics of interest to research each day.

I'm actually pretty healthy minus the possible seizure disorder and poor blood sugar levels.

The internet is how I spend most of my time.

Honestly, it's sometimes hard for me to get things done I need to do because I'll be in the middle of something and can't/don't want to pull away.

I spend a lot of time online. I play Tetris and listen to music, as well as go on here and Facebook, and I research.
