I eat everything in moderation, although slightly fewer fruits and vegetables than the USDA recommends. Lately, I developed a strong taste for canned herring and sardines. I usually buy them at an imported food outlet near my apartment building. Latvian herring packed in vegetable oil goes wonderfully on buttered slices of French bread; sprinkle some salt on top, and you got a gourmet beer snack (sounds like a contradiction, I know). Plus they're rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for you, and supposedly mitigate symptoms of AS.
I believe that is true, too. I have been on this calcium/magnesium/potassium diet for over a month now. My mind is clear and my energy level is off the charts. I drink a smoothie everyday that has milled flax seed in it. The flax seed is an excellent source of omega three acids if you do not want to rely soley on fish. I also eat regular tuna about three times a week, but I don't go overboard on it.
