I am extremely sensitive to light but i can handle stronger lighting and the sun a lot better than dimmer lighting or a overcast day. I have this thing about complete dark when i sleep. I know if my head comes out from under my blanket while i sleep i can wake up to such subtle changes in lighting as the light shining under the door (barely illuminating my room) My mood is usually one of annoyance when this happens because people know this about me and don't think it is as bad as my response often is. When i was young i cried every night because my brother needed a night light and his door left open it was across from mine. I had the bottom of my door lined with blankets and still was in a state of anxiety on a nightly basis.

YES. I am very sensitive to some kinds of light, but not to others. Sunlight is fine, as long as I have time to adjust to it, and have good sunglasses. If I exit a building into bright sunlight without sunglasses, I can't open my eyes, and I begin to feel an anxiety, which can dominate other thoughts. The worst kind of light attack is bluish white L.E.D.s, such as the new flashlights. The light which they cast is actually pleasing, but the source of the light is piercing and slices my brain into little pieces. In addition to whatever the autism causes for me with light, I also have painless opthalmic migraine, which is set off by sudden changes in light. (too much to explain here; Google it if interested in details).

i cannot keep my eyes open outdoors on a sunny day without dark glasses. it causes a feeling of pressure in my eyes. when i am caught outside without glasses i keep one eye closed tight and squint the other.

Like many who have commented, I am extremely sensitive to light. Bright light, whatever its origin, gives me a headache and makes me anxious. Sometimes I even feel like I am going to vomit. The noise some light sources make drives me batty as well.

I don't even like sunny days. I much prefer overcast days with no sun whatsoever.

Damn sun, I know it's out to get me .. it has been following me around all day!

Sunshine doesn't tend to bother me too much, but room lighting in certain circumstances can cause me to suffer from sudden and severe headaches.

I normally don't have problems with light. I just can't stand those '3D' movies.

Thanks, V001, for the link to darksky.org. They do a great job of explaining light pollution and light trepass to the skeptical.

I have photophobia and bright lights, especially fluorescent can make my pupils squeeze to the size of pinholes which is painful.
