I just want to say that you're all a great bunch of people. Even though I'm strongly against a cure for AS and Autism, I would like to say that I support you all, whether or not you support a cure. I would also like to wish you all, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :D

Well crap. Now I have to go against type and say something nice.

Bah. Humbug.

(Happy Holidays to you too!! !)

Nice message cockneyrebel! and thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

And I am also against a cure for Aspergers and Autism, but I respect other people's opinion as well. I wouldn't mind some medication or semi-cure for some of the issues tho, and for people who are non-verbal. But generally I strongly agree with Temple Grandin about this, in her area of expertise for example, there is many things that NTs absolutely couldn't figure out, but she did.

Here is a little poem I found, maybe it is simplistic but I liked it:

Quote:
Everyone's Place In Society

(Castles in the Air)

Neurotics dream of castles in the air

Psychotics move into them.

Autists think long and hard

About castles in the Air and then design real blueprints.

Neurotypicals take the blue prints and

With their superior social skills

Organize their actual construction

Psychiatrists sit back and collect the rent.

Merry Christmas everyone, even if it's not PC, I'm an Aspie and not always socially appropriate! In fact I've been thinking and have decided that the Grinch is really a misunderstood Aspie like us. It's not his fault he had sensitivity issues with Christmas carols or that his emotional range was inadequate by someone else's standards and it's certainly not his fault the Stork delivered him to the wrong planet. Furthermore, those Who's now honestly didn't they seem pathologically narcissistic as a race? Certainly seemed to me that the Who's just didn't get Christmas either so wasn't it a case of the pot calling the kettle black?

anyways, Merry Christmas everyone

Right, NOW it makes sense why the Grinch Who Stole Christmas was always my favorite childhood Christmas cartoon. Thanks for putting that into perspective!

In any case, Happy Holidays to everyone on Wrong Planet :rendeer:

And thanks, cockneyrebel, for your kind words.

The season is knackered, so mind your Christmas crackers.
