I fear most things as I believe the worst might happen, Example is I shave and brush my teeth as quickly and first thing in the morning just in case a major earth quake hits. I fear having a flat tire when driving. I fear most everyday events

Does anyone have a fear of things that are harmless? I fear many things that are not dangerous and do not effect sensory issues, eg. moths, remote controls, microwaves, the number 3.... Is this more likely in people on the spectrum?
Well, you're not going to like me. I'm obsessed with the number 3. Why do you fear 3? It's Awesome.

I too love the number 3. It's the perfect number.

When I was a kid I used to be scared of light coming through the window at night. I called it a "window shadow", pretty impressive wordplay considering I was 3 at the time. A harbringer of things to come ;) It just looked creepy as all hell, especially through the old-style windows we had at the time.

I don't like needles but have managed to overcome it to a certain extent. I have a good reason for it and I guess that it's a pretty normal fear.

There is one completely harmless class of objects that I really don't like and that's jewellery, especially earrings. I don't like to look at it and as for touching it. Yuck! It was hell when I was best man - handling those rings was one of the worst things I've ever had to do. Fear? Not really fear as such, but in intense disgust.

Yes definatly earthquakes chucmccain, when I change locations I often think about an action plan to get somewhere safe during and after, sadly this hasn't worked out in practice as every time we have one I freeze and scream and refuse to move.
Also things like walking to work and a car backing out of a driveway without looking, getting fired or having a 'chat' with the boss at work, I fear dogs and can't walk on the same side of the footpath as one with it's owner. I had to wait 5 minutes before moving my car today cause some guy didn't have a leash on it's dog and it kept running off.

I had a huge fear of toilets as a kid, where I'd think they would overflow and flood the house. I can recall 2 places of my childhood where there were the weirdest toilets, like one the pipe was attached to the wall so it appeared like it hovered 8O and I'd always inspect them when we visited, it always freaked me out to flush them.
