That's how I feel. Video games weren't around when I was growing up (well, except for the early arcade games, which I never got into and wasn't any good at), and I don't know if there was anime, maybe it just wasn't as popular then.

I've never heard of Astro Boy. :oops: But then again I grew up in Italy, though they did have a Japanese cartoon on TV called UFO Robot. But I never got into it.

UFO Robot sounds cool. Almost like Astro Boy.

I love science fiction and video games.

I like anime, use to love it, but now I feel all the characters are the same. I only really like the rare stuff that is very underground these days.

I always liked it because it was how I escaped reality. I wanted to live a like this, in a fantasy RPG. With swords or magic.

Truth I'm a still kind of obsessed with playing like a five year old. :oops: I like LARPING because I feel that's where I should have been born fighting dragons.

LARPING= Live Action Roleplaying

But most people see a 23 year old playing with plastic swords a bit childish.

I guess I always felt I was born in the wrong time, wrong era, wrong "normal" world. I like to think there are parallel worlds and one of those worlds has sorcery and dragons. The world I was suppose to live in.

Escapism. There is little things for me in real life, so I escape in imaginary and virtual worlds.

That makes sense. I enjoy mostly fantastical films and actions movies because real life bores me. I can't speak for you, but that's my reason.

I'm a video game/sci-fi nut. The reasons are as follows:

1. Escapism. Reality is boring and real people suck.

2. Control. In my own worlds, I have complete control over everything. In the real world, I have little to no control over anything.

3. My brain latched onto them. I can't help what my brain wants to obsess over. Silly brain.
