Oprah? That bastion of irrefutable scientific inquiry? A sample of one?

How is it possible that they knew she was "born a NT," when Autism is not diagnosable at birth?

Of course it is a TV show. That's the point. It's NOT science. It is a "pull the heart strings" mass media presentation of speculative ideas and dubious facts, wrapped in commercials designed to induce the purchase of things you don't really want or need.

Then you coming here, calling your self an aspie, when clearly, by your reasoning, Asperger's along with all other diagnoses are nothing but fabrications, means you, along with all of us other dupes, are wasting precious time discussing ASD related issues.

I mean, it's all made up crap, foisted on us by all of the leeches in the mental health profession, right?

I think what he/she meant is that most diagnosis like AS or ADD are labels created to explain a behavior that some people share. I personally don't mind the labels. When I first heard of Asperger's just a couple weeks ago I was relieved to find out that I wasn't just some "freak". There were many others out there experiencing the same things I have since childhood, and it actually made me feel more "normal".

Like you, having an official diagnosis would probably be more of a relief. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money right now to get a diagnosis for something that I am sure I have anyways.

Well "they" didn't invent mine - I had it before it was even named.
