When I'm tired and don't want to socialize, I call them:

-Obstacles, in my way of personal space

When I'm feeling friendly and kind of want to socialize, there is a limit to how long I'll talk:

-Sociable People, because they don't exactly explode your head yet and they are giving quick little conversational bits.

When I have to stomach through loads of crap I don't care about usually by them:

-People Bombs, because they will explode your brain with whatever information they can about how their cousin makes homemade strawberry jam, and how their kids are growing up so fast, etc.

Be careful what you call the NTs, neurotypicals, normals or others. If you start to make nasty remarks here about the "NTs" then it can lead to trouble for the wrong planet community. The worst thing for the wrong planet and those with AS/autism/alphabet soup is the non-NT neurobigot on the loose here.

While different DXs such as HFA, TS, AS, LFA, XYZ or even NT might be for different states it is important to know that one state is not morally better than another state.

We have plenty of trouble with NT neurobigots, a home grown non-NT bigot here could incite lots of trouble by giving the NT neurobigots the excuses which they are looking for to further trouble our kind.

One thing I have never been afraid of is speaking my mind. My opinions are a generalization - social commentary much in the same vein as a comedian. (not that I consider myself one in the least) I give all people the benefit of the doubt, everyone starts on equal, neutral footing with me until something sways my opinion. Unfortunately, I have only rarely been granted that same benefit of the doubt. In my experience NT's have routinely made trouble, taken advantage and tried to 'help me' be more like them. The thought of accepting me for who I am was never once entertained by anyone in my adult life. Yes, I have an opinion based on my personal experiences. My opinion doesn't color my actions. I do not use my opinion to discriminate against anyone because I strongly believe you need to treat people the way you wish to be treated. If you believe that makes me a bigot all I can do is strongly disagree with you. You are welcomed to your opinion as much as anyone else. And I am one of those people that would defend your right to speak your mind whether I agree with you or not.

I was under the impression that WrongPlanet was a safe haven, someplace I could express my frustrations without that sort of fear. If I have misinterpreted that, my apologies to all. I was unaware that NT's trolled these boards and I have to admit, I'm a bit shocked if that is the case.

I picked up the term "mundanes" from folks in the SCA/RenFest subculture. I also like Robert Anton Wilson's word for them, "mehums" (mere humans.) Another portmanteau word with a similar meaning is "sheeple" (sheep-people.)

When my parents and I talk about other/normal/average people we say they are "on a different wavelength"
My mother is anti-label so doesn't know about my suspicion that my (half) brother is the only NT in our immediate family...

Your Aspie score: 155 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 57 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

I'm a Morlock. That makes them Eloi.

I know that's a bit obscure.

When you think of the individuals who have made progress for all of mankind (Einstein, Newton, etc.), most of these innovators aren't NT's. A great way to describe those of us who don't fit the NT mold is to use the term "Seeds Of Hope" (Star Ocean, anyone?).

As for NT's, they're 'normal people' or 'muggle'.

That's supposition and can't be known.
