OK I had a good sleep again last night and today I'm suddenly totally fine and feeling normal. Surely vertigo doesn't just disappear after sleep? I'm not sure whether to take the rest of the meds or not, I don't want to take meds that I don't need...

@Lene
I didn't feel the room spinning, just myself having trouble balancing myself to walk

When I excused myself to go home, they said I looked pale

I'm not on any meds apart from the pill

I get ear infections on and off although they're outer ear infections, has to be inner ear to cause vertigo, and doctor checked the inner ear and didn't mention an infection

I'd had a little less sleep than desired but my sleep patterns were always funny, and it wasn't a dramatic difference. Ate well, love my food.

It took a while to recover, the symptoms wore off over another half an hour and I felt completely exhausted and confused after. I couldn't concentrate and talking still felt like a big effort.

I've only had some symptoms like this when in meltdown, but not ever so severely before and not all of these together.

I'm not convinced by vertigo diagnosis either, she seemed to have jumped to the diagnosis without hearing me say that my head was *pulling* down, not dropping from weakness, and I don't think vertigo is supposed to affect your thinking and concentration...

@jmnixon95 I don't understand what you mean... I was not anxious at all, in fact I was relaxed and even bored at the time... And when I'm anxious, I'm usually very, very aware of it, especially if it's a panic attack. Impossible to miss one o those when you're having one...

It's possible that it could disappear overnight, but I still have my doubts over the diagnosis in the first place.

Not vertigo. Vertigo = feeling of motion when one is stationary. You can get the other symptoms, but the room spinning is The cardinal symptom.

ok, that makes it less likely that you had epilepsy. That's nearly always associated with loss of consciousness (and I'm sure they'd have mentioned if you'd collapsed and gone haywire..)

Probably not a factor. Did your doctor check your blood pressure? If not, don't stop the pill, but next time you go back, maybe ask to get it checked.

Also, did you get any shortness of breath?

It could be tiredness in combination with the cramped conditions (choir) that set it off. Plus thinking back to my choir days, you're usually standing for long periods and with all that body heat, it gets very warm.

But after you recovered, did you recover completely?

At any time, did you notice any change in sensation in your vision or any weakness in your arms/legs?

It doesn't usually.

I'm not certain, but think it may be vaso-vagal response to your surroundings. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasovagal_response). If you scroll down. nearly everything you mention can cause it. It's not harmful, just if you feel it coming on again, try and sit down and maybe have a glass of water.

Ya checked blood pressure while sitting and then got me to stand up and tested it again. Nope, breathing was/is normal.
We have a big auditorium for choir rehearsals and it's actually slightly too cold most of the time, and we use the soft audience chairs.
I still felt a bit funny the next day, mild versions of the symptoms from the night before, and then exhausted from afternoon on, but slept well both nights and today I'm totally fine. At the time, my visual perception was suddenly awful. I couldn't see how far or near anything was and was trailing my hand along the wall to get out of the auditorium at break.
My arms did feel a little weak, but not very.
I didn't get the nausea and sweating until the next evening. It was very cold yesterday so I didn't know why I was sweating, and the nausea didn't happen til after my doctor appointment...

I'll be honest, I'm not sure what that's from. I can't say for certain, but if your blood pressure's ok, that's a good sign; it's unlikely to be a stroke/mini stroke

I'm gonna resort to the old 'maybe it's just a bug..?' cop out. Also, if the meds work, maybe there's no point in worrying too much. If the symptoms get worse/ recurr though, maybe go back and see if they'll do a few tests (ECG and bloods).

It's hard to say anything over the internet though, so please take this with a pinch of salt!

Ya I'm just enjoying feeling well now! Was scared by what happened, probably mainly cos it messed with my thinking and concentration, but I guess it could have been a bad meltdown or something. I'll see if it happens again and go from there... Thanks for all the responses, hopefully it's nothing major :-)
