That's why i was a samba dancer. Almost every brasilian music has its choreographed dance to go with it....so if you're looking for an alternative to tame stuff :P there you go!

Can I join your AS group and practice my (appalling) French on you?

:)

I'm totally unsure of what an AS group is, but i know for sure i don't have one :P you can still use me for french though :D

Merci bien mam'selle!

I can't tell you how much I hate to dance, even alone. I hate to sing, especially solo. Though, up to 6th grade, school plays and singing in a group or in music class never bothered me. Once I got into 7th grade, I hated to sing and dance. In 7th and 8th grade, I was forced to be in school plays, which involved hand movements and group singing. I absolutely *HATED* every minute of it. I was forced to go to my 7th grade Christmas play (hated practice, too) out of fear of failing music class, but I never went to the spring show and subsequent Christmas play in 8th grade and the spring show was canceled (I forget why, but was very happy). Now that I'm older, I never dance at bars (I just go to one, because I'm comfortable there), except for one time I was feeling comfortable so I danced with this one girl.

A friend of mine asked me to be in his wedding, and my ex-girlfriend, who I'm still good friends with, will be my "date". And because of my close friendship with the groom and my ex(who is close friends with the groom as well), I will be expected to dance at least a slow dance with my ex. I'm not looking forward to it, but I will do it because they will be expecting me to, and I don't want to disappoint anyone.

I enjoy dancing and I dance whenever I can. It's great exercise, too. :)

I don't like dancing, except around my dorm when nobody's watching.

I love dancing, when no one is around.

I also find it very difficult to sit still if there is music that has the right rhythm for me - so I do even dance in public sometimes. I'm often told that my behaviour (dancing) is inappropriate for the situation.

At places/events where you are "expected" to dance (weddings etc.), I seem to feel too much pressure to dance to actually be able to get up and dance (no matter how much I want to) and I end up stuck firmly to my seat. Which seems a little odd, come to think of it, and is annoying and frustrating. Though of course I'm usually struggling just to be at the event in the first place...

I hate this thread. All afternoon the refrain "You should be dancin', yeah" (Bee Gees) has been going over an over in my head.

Thanks :wall: :eew: :skull:

Social dancing - doesn't work for me - I could never figure out how to "be led", I always tried to lead and I am a klutz .... I did dance with my babies/children and thoroughly enjoyed it though and now that they are older, if I'm alone in the house I love dancing to good music all by myself

It makes my skin crawl to even think of dancing! Or singing! I don't even like being around when people are listening to music because I do not know how to react.

I love to dance...but only when nobody is watching...unless it's after a few drinks...haha...but I think it's just a cultural thing...my son loves to dance as well...I dance every chance I get...I used to go 3-4 times a week before my son was born... 8O

I can't answer this question, as it does not describe my situation. I like personal dancing, whether choreographed or just running and leaping like a spaz when I am alone. I dislike couple's dancing, as I have no rhythm.

I line dance and it's ok. I can't seem to dance without a choreographed sequence of steps either.

If it weren't for elements of my movement disorder, I would be dancing close to all the time. The world has its own music.
