I don't lack empathy and I think the person with AS who, as an adult lacks empathy to the extent that they don't realize others have feelings, is rare.

I think to say that those with AS lack empathy, is like saying Muslim women feel oppressed because they have to wear a hijab, the former being a neurotypocentric misconception and the latter being a westernocentric misconception.

How about they don't consider another person's feelings? I've gotten into many arguments with people with AS for that reason alone.
Lack of empathy doesn't mean zero empathy. When you lack something you haven't got much of it.
