I've been trying lately to identify aspies by the eyes, and it seems most I've looked at have the same look to their eyes; a kind of emotionlessness to them.

I am happy to receive contradictory evidence, however.

if what you're asking is if autism/AS has a particular physical appearance associated with it, similar to down syndrome, then the answer is no. however, i have noticed that people with autism/AS tend to have similarities in the way they hold themselves. toe walking is common, obviously, and it also seems like many people don't close their lips all the time when in a neutral expression, and hold their forearms horizontally to the body with the hands dangling... has anyone else noticed that? i always catch myself doing it with one or both arms, and often in candid photographs i'll notice that i'm doing it even if i didn't realize it at the time... but i've also noticed that sometimes people with other brain disorders do the arm thing (cerebral palsy, i think down's syndrome, etc...)

anyone else notice that? =/

I didn't, but now that you mention it I do a lot of that.

Toe walking. I swear I saw myself do just that in some of the videos I have of me. It was weird and disturbing.

According to the pics you've posted, you look nothing like him.

Anyways, back to the point of the thread, he looks kind of like an Aspie to me. I can't really explain how I can think this sometimes.

If you saw me in person, you would fall over because you wouldn't believe how much I look like him. Those are bad pictures taken with a web cam.

You don't look like him at all, really. It kind of looks like you are trying to have that sort of hair cut though. But in any case, you look like you. Not him. And that's fine. The fact that you really like someone doesn't mean that you have to look like them. You look nice. Don't expend too much effort trying to emulate that guy, ok? It isn't necessary. You like the music and that is more than enough. =]

Hmm...I hadn't really paid attention to other people, but yeah. If I'm walking and my hands aren't in the pocket of my hoodie (a rare occurance, indeed) they are out like that with my hands dangling or they are stiff at my sides. They're usually stiff at my sides when I am noticing them...my body feels weird. Disconnected.

My avatar is a picture of my beautiful son. Everyone who has familiarity with AS agrees he should have been officially diagnosed, he has been tested several times since he was 3, but his only official school listed diagnosis is Central Auditory Processing Disorder. I am so frustrated, I think it has something to do with the school district saving money. Meanwhile, he's only got 2 years of school left and he is still not being correctly helped. Anyone here from Oregon know where to go for testing besides the University?

He kind of looks like the male version of me except my hair always looks messy, my glasses thicker and my eyes have a look of constant confusion - or sometimes just spell out awkward.

Does he still get some support for his diagnoses?

Open lips characterize me, I do it in my adulthood too, not only that child on the left. Fortunately I can observe it and shut my lip up. :) I also have the forearm horizontal position. Toe walking is rare, I do it when I'm unusually happy and excited about something, running up the stairs by double (as always, and I can hold a cup of coffee in my hand without the danger of spilling), down the stairs.

I walk rather 'shadowy', as I place my feet very quietly and softly, and it requires toe-work. My colleagues can tell how many times I 'frightened' them with this, last time it cost half cup of coffee to one. :)

My eyes often 'gaze', sometimes look a little bored as I narrow my eyelids with fatigue. Other times I can look mild and open, it's a pity that it requires excitement or attention I can't give for long. :(

OJani: Your post just reminded me of how people have remarked that when I leave barefoot footprints, they only consist of the ball of my foot. My footprints are readily distinguishable from those of others.

Also, the soles of my shoes get worn down much, much faster at the ball than the heel.

HERE IS A PHOTO OF ME:
(I am the one in the white coat on the left)

I have always wondered if I "look" like I have AS and if I look younger than my age because that seems common in AS. I
