My social anxiety is so extreme that it has caused my high blood pressure to spike. Everytime I go to the store, have to wait in a waiting room full of people. or be around large groups of people I break out into a sweat and become dizzy from my blood pressure spiking. Due to my high blood pressure and the constant spiking I now have 80% kidney function, an enlarged heart, and suffered from congestive heart failure. The anxiety did not cause my high blood pressure but it made it worse since I get constant spikes in severity due to anxiety.

When you're an adult symptoms of AS do not get worse unless you are under stress or when you develop some other co-morbid condition, like anxiety or depression.

You cannot simply develop more symptoms of AS.

The best thing to do is work on the issues most affecting your life, like the depression. When you handle depression, anxiety and stress your symptoms will not affect you as much.

The depression is caused by loneliness, lack of social interaction, unable to hold a job, lack of sucess,, unable to make friends, and i wont ever be able to make these things work no matter how hard i try these things dont work
and thus AS will aggravate.

I think AS can indirectly cause other psychological problems. It's been my case anyway.

Hi,

I have AS(self diagnosed) I want to know what is the effect in the long run
Will my condition deteriorate, will it aggravate and i will get serious issues like bipolar
I am already depressed and moody

I don't know if you'll develop anything like bipolar (and depending on your age, you may be out of the age group that this is most likely to happen to).

Some autistic people find that over time their autism becomes less of an issue. Temple Grandin talks about this (although I think she generalizes it a lot). Some find that it becomes more of an issue:

There's no specific answer that can be easily applied.

Thankyou so much for sharing this article. I was skim reading this topic, and clicked on the article link, and then I couldn't stop reading it from start to finish. I feel enlightened in some many different areas of my life! Thankyou again.

A lot of times my doctor will not hand out meds due to how they will react to pills I already take. He was in a nervous wreck handing out my new meds for my diabetes because the other pills would have a bad reaction to my high blood pressure meds or would effect my kidneys or bloodpressure. We had to go with a medicine he does not normaly offer to his diabetic patients. He hates new meds because he is unsure of hidden effects.
