I know that people with ASDs are notorious for having amazing rote memories, while having a barely existent short term memory. Ill go weeks before I remember to pencils in my bag to bring to school, even though I write it everywhere, ill look at it and forget in a few seconds, and yet I can practically recite pi backwards! And I'm not just good with numbers, I remember almost every fact I learn as well. But facts with numbers are my favorite! Did you know that you have 206 bones in your body, and 26 in your foot and 27in your hand (19 in the hand and 8 in the wrist)? I bet a bunch of aspies and some doctors did. I'll admit, it can gr very annoying and a site of bullying... the kids in my math class make fun of me because I forget pencils and I say that I tried to remember but couldn't, and they just tell me I should have written it down. Little do they know its inscribed all over my notebooks and hands. I just wish they could understand, and obviously its a huge difficulty with teachers and homework! And yet all my test grades are 100 so they assume I'm lazy or slacking, but because of my weird Autistic memory, homework is usually more difficult than tests. Ahhhh the life of an aspie...
