Oh, holy son of a deuce, yes.

I absolutely hate anything that doesn't fit into my plans. Even a 5 second delay that really doesn't have any impact beyond that is so stressful to me.

I've been trying to work out how I plan things so that I can be more flexible about that sort of thing, but it's not easy.

They're unsettling and not fun - even if they're intended to be fun. The whole day is disrupted and it takes a few more days for the disruption to smooth itself out again.
I need to know well in advance.

Unexpected change needs to go die in a fire.

Sometimes unplanned events upset me or make me nervous and sometimes they don't. It kind of depends on the circumstances, what kind of an event it is and what I was previously planning to do.

I generally hate when I've already made some plans and some unexpected event ruins my plan. I tend to get really disappointed if I was looking forward to something else and my plans get ruined with something unexpected that may be a lot less pleasant.

Some unexpected events make me nervous, because I don't get a chance to prepare myself for them or because the nature of the event is something that I usually find hard to deal with and know that I usually end up feeling bad about or having a meltdown over. I really hate when I don't know what to expect and I often don't know how to react, so I hate unexpected events/surprises that leave no room for preparing myself mentally.

I hate when someone unexpectedly invades my personal space or privacy. I hate when people show up at my house for unexpected visits. I hate when someone unexpectedly invades my working space. I hate when I go to work two hours early to get a chance to work in quiet and dark and some colleague unexpectedly shows up early too and ruins it.

Sometimes I have less problems handling unexpected events though. Certain kinds of surprises can be pleasant. Sometimes I have no special plans and therefore don't get as upset if something unexpected comes up. Some unexpected events are easier to handle than other, so the nature of the event matters too and it's not always bad.

I hate surprises and unplanned events. A recent example is that my family and I originally planned to go to the Oregon Coast in June, but my sister who lives in England called the other day and said that she is coming to visit from June until August. Even though it is still a month away, I feel like it is an unplanned event because normally she announces coming to visit at least six months to a year in advance. One month isn't enough time for me to mentally prepare myself.

And your family can't go together?

Any sort of unplanned event completely ruins my day. I need to know at least one day in advance to prepare myself for something unusual.

I'm not that crazy about planned events, either. The very word "event" implies that it is disruptive, expensive, noisy, disorienting, time-consuming and possibly disappointing. I'll pass.

I agree. Anything out of the ordinary routine, eg. a doctors appointment, going out for someones birthday, even just knowing I have to go buy something from the shops will stress me out until I've got it done and out of the way.
