Difficulties with boundaries
I think it was okay for your boss to ask when you were going to go on maternity leave. Managers really need to know these things ahead of time so they can work out the shifts for when you're going to be gone and possibly hire another employee to cover you if needed.

On forums, people ask those "boundary" questions all the time because they are interested in seeing a debate between the sides. When they aren't sure what to choose, they read through the opinions of others to make an informed decision. More often than not, NT's weigh the popularity of an idea right along with how practical it is when comparing it to other ideas.

It's perfectly okay to ask to your relatives and family about almost anything if you have a good relationship with them, and they can see that you are only interested in their opinion and not to challenge them.
Boundaries of that sort are difficult for me to handle. I'm naturally a very open person, and so I've never tended to see an issue with revealing information that most would want to keep very private, or with asking questions that would normally be considered rude and intrusive. I've only learnt to keep within these social boundaries through the feelings of shame and embarrassment resulting from other people's disapproval, but I still find it frustrating to 'keep a lid' on things that I desperately want to say or ask. Even today, I can get into difficulties with people I know, as I tend not to respect their privacy as much as I should, or pry when it isn't wanted...
I've tended to be too open about myself and I learned in 2010 that can be a very bad thing. Now I try and be more private. But I still feel the need to share it because I keep thinking people won't think any different of me or not get the wrong idea in their head and I have issues with censorship.
