I would be surprised if that number turned out to be accurate universally. For what it's worth, in my area at least I don't see it being above 1 in 100, but there's bound to be fluctuations in number with different areas of the world.

I'm guessing you aren't including the autistics that almost never leave their houses/apartments (and therefore would reduce the percentages you see)...

Well, alright. Perhaps the figure I used was a little low, but I still don't see it being close to 1 in 38. I don't know any of those type of people, but I know people who do. Even with that in mind, I don't see my town having quite as much as potentially 1,500 people on the autistic spectrum. Maybe 500-800, which would make the ratio more closer to 1 in 70 or 75.

I think the numbers are a lot higher than previously thought. My adoptive dad is most likely has AS (going by his interests, lack of eye contact, etc). How many more from his generation could be/had been on the spectrum & just never knew about it? Also, it's quite likely that I am on the spectrum as well although I am "too old to have AS." I know plenty of people who could very well have symptoms of autism who are also too old to have it. Unfortunately, where I live if you are out of school, you don't have it. As if someone is magically changed & knows how to socialize once he/she receives a piece of paper saying he/she made it through high school. Stupid stupid reasoning.

OK. Now include the numbers of people who've self-taught to hide their autism.

The significant impairment diagnosis should include relationship difficulties

Relationship difficulties difficulties per se would open it up to all the NTs who have marital problems out of NT selfishness. I can just see the figure rising to the 1 in 4 who get divorced. Just joking, but who knows where this might go eventually. Clearly the key words in your second paragraph are "should INCLUDE".

Hmmm...before long we with autism will be the majority and the NTs will be the minority---at which time being NT will become a disorder and autism the norm  .

I can see it now---Neurotypical Speaks.

+10!! lol

Maybe the ruling elite have a vested interest regarding PDD thought control and social engineering? Maybe there is actually much more to aspergers syndrome that what we all initially believe?

I guess Nova Scotia is the NT capital of the world then, because there certainly are not that many autistic people here. Sometimes 1 in 100 even seems far-fetched around here since I've rarely met anyone with autistic qualities, and no one that I know of who has an official diagnosis except for one LF guy.

Neurotypicals can speak for themselves. The problem is, they never say anything meaningful.

More like this...
