the game in question is not golf it is actualy darts. My obssesiveness is what i want people to notice though because it is very dangerous obsessing with a game you can no longer play.I can not move on and away frm it ,it is a nightmare and i don't beleive this has happened to anyone to such an extent before.

The yips is the what they call a twitchy putter in golf.

You can no longer play or no longer play as well as before? If this obsession costs you time, friends, money, employment, etc, then it is unhealthy. But everybody peaks and goes down hill at some point. If it is not winning that is your problem, it won't matter what you do, darts or any other sport.

Have you discussed this with a therapist?

i have told more therapists about it than i can remember but they do not realy understand.I feel i can never give up this game now like anyone else would of done long ago.It is a very dangerous thing for an aspie to be unablle to play the sport they obsessed over.I would like to know if anyone else with aspergers has experienced the yips in any sport they played?

I think you've got the horse before the cart, as they say. It is not a dangerous thing for someone 'on the spectrum' to not be able to play the sport they love. It is a dangerous thing to allow the obsessions regarding not be able to play to get out of hand. I can't speak for you but I can tell you, as someone with a strong obsessive streak, you can master obsessions with enough effort, or should the effort not be enough, with medications. You must believe that you can change your mindset because it won't change on its own.
