Yes. I have always listened to the same songs over and over. When I was little, I watched the Lion King until it broke. I read books over and over... I actually made my mother very angry during the summer before 5th grade. She bought my reading list that year and one of the books was A Wrinkle in Time. There were 4 other books. I would read one one day and then read A Wrinkle in Time again and again for a couple of days. She thought that I was not reading the other books at all...which would not have mattered at THAT point because I had the entire summer left to finish them. In any case, I was going to the doctor and I took A Wrinkle in Time to read while I waited for my check up. She saw it and flipped out. Ripped it in half, threw it away, and told me to read one of the other books on my list because she did not spend her money for me to waste it all.

I do this all the time, and have done so ever since I was a small child. There have been a few movies I used to watch a couple times a day, everyday, and I could speak along with the entire movie, word-for-word without missing a syllable.

I've done this too. I think it is easy and it is comforting to redo something you already know you like. If you try something new, it requires an investment of your time and mental energy, and probably in the end you'll decide it wasn't worth the effort. I know I can watch a movie on cable and multitask with some other things, and not feel I've lost my place when I get back to it. It is a comfortable coat.

I'll also re-read shorter writings on topics I'm in interested in. Or even parts of someone's writing or blog. This can be to either try understand it better, reading comprehension, or simply because I like what it says so much I keep repetitively returning back to it. When I do this it probably also has to do with me not being able to articulate in words as well for myself so I go over it and then return to it again. I even did this tonight.

As a matter of fact I very rarely like a piece of music from the first hearing. Usually I have to force myself to listen to it several times (no less than 3-5 times) before I get to like it.
Same is with movies, I usually have issues with first or pilot episodes of every series and I have to make myself sit through it or rewatch so as to get to like the series. Instant liking have happened so far only with two or three movies.

I would always prefer things I know already to new things so repetition helps me to get my bearings. If I have to watch or listen or read new things every day I will get lost very quickly and will miss roughly 95 % of the information content.

I have played songs over and over again for hours. Even for films, I have played certain scenes number of times because they get stuck in my head and then I move on. Those this happen to anyone else or something similar?

Before I was married I used to watch porn over and over again

I listen to the same song on loop for a while and depending on the movie I may rewatch a scene over and over (usually a musical number I like or a part where something is unclear and I'm trying to figure out what is going on in the movie).

Yes, completely! At the moment, it's Norgaard by The Vaccines. x)
And not movie-scenes so much, but movies, yes. Books too, I used to be able to read the same books over and over again...
