I think i might have been diagnosed with borderline MR

I have different questions.I was surely diagnosed as ASD when i was 6,i discovered it later on when i was 21,but i am not sure,i think i might have been diagnosed with borderline IQ too,because of people saying that i am ret*d in school(they said to them the teachers or those in charge)and by teachers that used to make fun of me(i would love to beat the s**t out of this teacher and i could say i could him too,f.... son of the b....).

If your psychologist said you aren't, then you aren't.

Are you worried about this because you had trouble in school? If that's it, you may have a learning disability, which is not the same thing as mental retardation. I have dyscalcula which means there is a lot of math I am unable to do.

An actual diagnosis can't be made without you taking an IQ test. People use "ret*d" as an insult in anger. But an insult is not a diagnosis.

Listen to your psychologist who said you do not have mental retardation. That means more than an angry insult at school.

If you took an IQ test, you would know it. They take hours. There is no way for him to do an IQ test on you without your knowledge.

No they did not said it to me as an insult.I just heard people talking each other that i may not go to army because i am slightly ret*d and other times not in my face.So here is one maybe proof.

I was called ret*d a lot in elementary school. I did score in the mild/borderline ret*d range when I was little up until about age ten. I read somewhere online that in 1992 they lowered the MR range down to 70 from 80 so who knows what score I got then before they changed the MR range so I put mild/borderline. At age 8, I got 83 as my overall IQ but my performance IQ was normal but my verbal IQ was not. It was 55.

I am not sure about this, but I think it goes by IQ level, does it not? My niece and nephew are both borderline and they have IQs in the low 70s. They are children and do not know they have been diagnosed with borderline mental retardation, although they are aware they have learning difficulties. They are lacking in some areas, but it's not like they walk around with a big sign around their necks that say "I'm Borderline". I mean, they look like perfectly normal children. No one can tell they are borderline unless, maybe, they sit there and try to do school work with them. They both use a computer fine, btw. They have great memories. They teach me things all the time (and I have a "gifted" IQ). It's not like borderline (or even "fully" ret*d) people are miserable morons that cannot lead good lives. I do not mean that to be rude, I am just trying to assure you that even if you have a borderline IQ, you can be happy and normal. It doesn't mean you appear differently to other people or not capable of things such as using the computer. Borderline people are capable of lots of things. Some even go to college and get a diploma or a degree!!

I don't know if i am smart,but if i talk to people about my interests they will assume so.Especially if i play the elitist and say big words.

With all due respect, most with border line IQs don't use words like "dehumanization" let alone spell them correctly.

I am also borderline intellectual functioning. My IQ is 82. I did graduate from a 2 year college and was lucky in school. It takes me longer to learn things, my vocabulary is very small and more like a 5 year old even though I am 28, I can't follow multi step instructions from people and other things. Some people call me smart because I talk about my special interest which is psychology and current events. When I talk about those things I sound at times like a genius. When its outside of my interests I sound mentally challenged. My reading comprehension sucks.
