I think your interesting and your attempts to disprove your AS made me smile this morning though I am still trying to figure out if your joking or not.

If you really don't think you have AS have you looked. Into OCD?

You defiantly have an obsession though which is common with AS

i have never been banned from a forum and i have only been banned from irc twice. Once for an IP address issue and once because the person did not believe that I was 18 (which, at the time, i was). Maybe people are threatening to ban you because you are doing something that is seen as ban worthy.

Lacking a theory of mind or possessing a diminished one entails that I have no idea if anyone would be interested, suggesting I could in fact lack such a thing. But, I don't care -- my neurological type interests me and that's all that really matters to me, and I'm just trying to seek a consensus among my fairly rational peers.

Btw, since you're obviously so interested in threads that disinterest you, you should post in threads about watching paint dry more often.

Not according to your complete misunderstanding of social mores. WP isn't that much different from anywhere else regarding what is considered acceptable behaviour.

I have the same disabilities yet am sufficiently grounded to realise that nobody on WP could give a toss whether or not I was aspie or NT.

However, you are quick to make assumptions. I never said any of this wasn't interesting; just not interesting in the way you may expect. I find inexplicable human behaviour very interesting.

So, I was looking for a "broad autistic phenotype scale" and found one at http://www.okcupid.com/results/the-broa ... _aloof=101 . I thought, socially, I was answering pretty autistically and the report said I was "socially odd", but I looked at the percentile scores and I was less EVERYTHING than the average person taking that test.

You scored 101% on aloof, higher than 41% of your peers.

You scored 60% on rigid, higher than 8% of your peers.

You scored 87% on pragmatic, higher than 46% of your peers.

You scored 0% on diagnosis, higher than 7% of your peers.

Is the average person taking that test autistic or half-autistic or something and not my average neurotypical peer randomly interested in taking such a test? I'm NOT supposed to epitomize a neurotypical, dag nabbit.

I was looking at the distribution curves, and they seem to be bimodal, where there's two humps in the graph suggesting two distinct populations are taking this test. The "more neurotypical" hump seems significantly smaller than the "more autistic" hump, suggesting that there might be a large number of autistic types taking this test and neurotypicals make up a small fraction of those taking it. However, I looked at the recent results and it appears 2 out of 5 people obtained "neurotypical" so maybe the percentage of people taking the test who are neurotypical is high enough for a "fair distribution". But, then I looked at their subtest scores and there scores pretty much landed on or fairly close to the "more neurotypical" humps in the distribution curves, so I'm guessing that's the neurotypical distribution I should be comparing myself to, as apparently a large number of aspies or autistics took this quiz thereby skewing the statistics.

I looked at scores from what would presumably be mostly neurotypicals at http://forums.infjs.com/showthread.php?t=13356, and my rigidity scores were less than everyone there.

It sounds like you're using a modified version of Devil's Advocate, swbluto. It's a great way to gain understanding when the people you're questioning understand what you're doing, and I use it often, myself. But it also involves a fine line between constructive debate and trolling. It would seem to many on this board that you've overstepped this line. I'll admit that this is easy to do accidentally, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But please realize that calling someone out to defend their opinions is not usually the best way to get them to do so. Likewise, making outrageous proclamations also tends not to have the best results.

All this analysis is fine and dandy but being and a**hole in the end is simply being an a**hole - whether someone is AS or not.

And to make my earlier post clear: shitstirring and hurting people is mean, but whinging when you get a kick in the butt for it is stupid.

And, if one is an a**hole and has aspergers, than that'd make them doubly AS, right? One for having Aspergers Syndrome and one for having the a**hole Syndrome. Hey, that'd make one the paragon of AS. It's be ironic if Ultra-AS's tended to get banned from the forum for being too AS.

Yes, that's a test named after the idea. I wasn't saying whether or not you were BAP. My intended point was that someone who is somewhat but not quite fully autistic is BAP - or specifically "half aspie, half NT." It's not a diagnosis, and a test may or may not place you there. It's something, that if you think it fits you, you can use to describe yourself.

And Moog made the same point I was trying to make earlier that you either didn't acknowledge or didn't get from my post:



I learned the hard way that "friendly teasing" works in levels and that what I can say to a friend is not the same thing I can say to an acquaintance, and what I can say to that acquaintance may not be something I can say to a stranger. Also, that it is possible to cross the line with friendly teasing and go too far. And sometimes, the person doing the joking is not necessarily the best judge of what the limits are. And I've had NTs cross this line with me, and I've crossed this line with NTs, so it's not even specifically a neurotype thing, but a social faux pas thing that some autistic people are simply more likely to commit, not that NTs are immune to it.
