Going off topic for a moment, if I may, I'm interested in why you are averse to the use of 'NT' to describe people with typical/average neurological function? Is there some politically correct rule that I'm breaking in using it?
Technically, if we can't call them NT's, then they can't call us Apergers.
It works both ways, at least that's what I tend to think.
It's not like it's an insult or anything, it's just what they are, and we are what we are what we are.

I agree with anandamide. Don't run their race. Run your own. Don't follow their rules, make up your own. Do not let the barking of the jackals disturb the slumber of the dragon. Figure out a way to use your potential. What seems to be a handicap may be a gift
Wow, that has made me feel so much better.. i've been feeling so depressed lately.

That's really beautiful!
But it's such a lonely path. I don't think I'm ready to tread it, not on my own at least.

But you will get a lot of satisfaction from it.
I know I do And it may not be quite as 'lonely' as you might think. There are a large number of Aspie noncomformists. And I'm reasonable confident that the proudly Autistic are almost universally noncomformists. (With varying degrees of militantism)
And it's not just Autistics that are like this. Plenty of NTs also believe in following their own path. They also seem to be the sorts of people that are actually worth spending any time around.
You'll also probably end up being far more emotionally healthy. Autistics are often described as square pegs. That people try and smash into round holes. It helps when we make our own holes to fit people into.
