Yes. My best friend and I met on a forum five years ago this month, and we've been inseparable ever since. She and I write each other every day. We've never met in person, but we plan to someday. My second-closest friend is also an online friend I have never met in person. She and I met on the same forum where I met my best friend. All three of us are very close and have our own private forum where we talk each day. I have lots of other online friends I'm fairly close with. The only other close friends I have used to live near me but moved away last year. But I talk with them on the phone every week. Online friends are the best. You can think about what to say, and you don't have to worry about being rude when you've had your fill of talking. You just sign off and that's it. Almost all of my socializing is done on the Internet.

Sadly at this time I'd say yes. Conundrum who has a Master's in Criminal Justice has told me alot about getting into grad school and the challenges of research as well as understanding my family issues and giving helpful advice on that when needed. Better than a therapist who tells me "Be myself" "Get over it" :-) I hope being on college campus in the Fall I can meet people but we'll see.

I don't really have friends online. I do have friends in real life though. 3 of them to be exact. It might not be much but its better than nothing. I do have enemies online though that were bullies on many sites.

Nope. She's a real person I see face to face. She's eight years younger than me but I'm not aware of any law that says your friends must be the same age as you.

I feel withdrawal whenever she's not online.
