oh wait, you guys are americans.... ....

I am having trouble reading the intent of this? what are you saying in plain straight forward language.

Are you saying only americans believe that money is the root of all evil? or does the rolly eyed emoticon indicate some kind of sarcasm?

It's better that an Aspie makes money off of Aspergers and not some greedy NT.

What is the title "Making money from aspergers" alluding to? Is it alluding to psychologists making money from diagnosing people with aspergers? Is it alluding to aspergers therapy that doesn't really help people recover from their aspergers? What EXACTLY is it alluding to???

If you tax an activity, it happens less. If you subsidise an activity it happens more.

What I was alluding to is contained in my first post. That is: that money or greed will compromise the integrity of AS research and treatment, as more money becomes available, when more people are sick

What a novel concept - doctors working to keep people healthy rather cashing in on preventable illnesses...

You do realize that talk like that will get you branded a socialist. Big Pharma will hunt you down for suggesting that people NOT get sick in the first place...

How do people not get sick in the first place?

Lifelong preventative care and education.

Did you know that there is a vaccination for the common cold? But we'll never see it. You'd eliminate an entire aisle at the drug store if that happened.

I heard that traditionally in China a doctor was only paid when you were well, when your family was sick they we not paid IE: they were not doing their job properly

That's a great idea.

I've always wanted to write a parody of one of those autism biographies called "My Pitiful, Heroic Life: An Autobiography of a brave woman who was cursed by autism".

Maybe the front cover will look like this:

or perhaps this:

Then I'd write all kind of bollocks about how miserable my life was, how heroically I managed to overcome my obstacles and CHA-CHING! I'd be mint.

Who would play you in the movie adaptation of the book? That is where the real money is.

Asperger's could become an industry like any other condition, disorder, illness, etc. People write books on how to deal with a variety of issues and treat them yet no one ever seems to be able to cure anything. Even bacterias are becoming antibiotic resistant. Maybe it is impossible to cure anything and the word cure, in itself, is nonsense? You are just stuck with it.

Artists and painters are told by their publicist to maintain a style that becomes their signature look, sound, texture whatever

To change midstream can alienate your audience/followers/fans, and cause a loss of value to your work and career
