Ummmm... and what happens when a croc catches a wild pig... in the wild? Crocs are known to be wary and crafty. If I'm not mistaken, in that episode he explained why he needed the pig alive... to outsmart a wiley and dangerous croc.

I have no love for people who intentionally hurt animals but I also believe you need to let nature be nature. Lion kills on the Serengeti are brutal. Wolf packs got their much feared reputation and were hunted to near extinction because of the way in which they hunt and eat... it was considered 'evil'. If a wiley croc will only take live bait... then that's what you use.

Crocs must hunt the pigs. They do not tie them up. So far I do not know of an animal that ties it's prey up. If you need live bait to catch a croc, do you really need to catch that croc?

:lol: If it's eating people - then YES. That was how he got started...catching nuisance crocs.

You'd have to watch the episode again.. if it's the one I'm thinking it is, he took Suie out to help hunt pigs because none of the other traps and live capture methods worked. It was a big, old, wiley and human smart croc. Live bait was a last resort. He even expressed regret at having to do it but the croc had attacked people. If he couldn't live catch it they were gonig to have to send hunters to kill it. He was doing everything in his power to get that animal out alive. He gave deference to the native animal over the invasive one.

I'm pretty sure Animal Planet pulled that eppisode. It was WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY back in the mid 90's. I don't care if it was hunting people. He should not have dangled that pig for it. Justifying him doing that because pigs are overpopulated and feral is rather hypocrytical because humans are overpopulated and if you think about it....feral. Look, you're not going to convince me what he did was right.

Not trying to convince you of anything. I told you from the outset I didn't agree with you and you continued the conversation. You are more than welcomed to your opinion.
