I don't have the sort of imagination where physical objects become other objects. Not sure if I ever did, but if I did, it was an extremely long time ago.

I don't play anymore, but I simply stand there and imagine things. It's almost always a modern but realistic battle. I'll think of places a company can set up positions, what battalion/regiment/division they'd be from, who they'd be fighting, how many people it would take to defend the area, etc.

For example, I recently plotted a battle between the 36th Infantry Division (Texas National Guard) defending south Texas from some sort of Cuban invasion. I concluded it would take the entire 72nd Brigade Combat Team to defend my subdivision and the adjacent ranch (judging by the amount of troops and length of the line), breaking troops from the RSTA Squadron and placing them on the edge of the front (which is about a mile long), and having each troop/company leave a 3rd platoon in reserve. This would require the assistance of both E and F company's from the 536th BSB to fill the gaps between company's. I even went as far as finding a weak link in the defensive line; There's two ponds next to each other with a ridgline between about 500 yards from my house that would make a perfect vantage point for suppressive fire by two infantry platoons (from B/3/141) and a heavy machine gun platoon (backed by a well placed 60mm mortar platoon about 150 yards behind the line). The problem is the line would require the left flank to position themselves at an angle (almost parrallel to the enemy's advance) and isolate the rifles on the end of the line, as well as cause a tight but exploitable 100 yard gap between B and A company's.

Terribly nerdy, no? :D

Wow. Just wow.

That is awesome.

But, you forgot to have anti air. Never forget the AAA and SAM launchers.

I'd send some of my troops into transport helicopters and sneak in at night to take out your artillery, and then flank your forces. I would also consider going around your defensive line with the rest of my forces to try and create a diversion.

I'm only three years behind you, and I still do that. I could pretend that a lazer pointer was actually a light saber (I know, I sound like a geek).

I just want to say Whosinabunker, wooo Dexter. :D

Other than that, I have nothing productive to add.

I can't imagine anything I haven't seen in real life, or (like Dougn) 'see' objects as other objects. It's one of the worst things about my AS, I'd love to have a good imagination. :(

I have never had this kind of imagination : / I've always been told I have a great one, because I can make things up and describe them, but I've never been able to immerse myself in it like others do.

Keep with it, though; there's nothing wrong with having a vivid imagination as long as it doesn't interfere with your daily life, and you know how to separate it from reality.
