In college, I had someone come up to me and say how surprised they were to see a high school student on campus.

I've always looked young for my age, it kind of bothers me sometimes. I'm 23 and probably look like I'm 17 or so. I guess the thing is sometimes I feel I am about that old too!

I get that all the time. I am almost 36 and I usually pass as a 16-17-18 no problem.
Husband (older than me) is usually considered to be my father, my mother is automatically sorted into the order of grandmothers, which annoys her to no end.

Funny part is, people can't always guess whether I am a teenage boy or a teenage girl but they are firm in their belief that I am still in high school.

For me my it is genetic both of my parents look ten years younger than their actual age. But then again both of my parents are weird so I guess they might be on the spectrum. I have been told I look like I am in my twenties. My psycholoogist also looks younger than he is and he has Aspergers too.

If I keep a clean shaven face, then yes I'm often mistaken for maybe....late teens? Thats why I rock the goat. Also because I like it 8) However, having a beard doesn't age me much. Most people at work thought I was 20 or 21. I think it has more to do with my personality. I'm more like a 16 year old rebel then a 27 year old adult.

I look like I'm 13 or 14. I'm thinking about growing a mustache so maybe someone will get the idea.

Nah, you're not the only one. I'm like this too. :P I'm 22 and yet everyone thinks I look older than my sister, who's 28. Granted, she looks young for her age but I could probably pass for 24 or 25. When I was 15, I could get served at a bar without being asked for ID. In the UK, you can be ID'd in a shop if you've bought alcohol, if the server thinks you're under 25. I never get ID'd. Good times :)

I've always looked young for my age. I remember when I was 18 and had finished highschool, I was waiting for a ride home by a friends parent who worked at an elementary school. I was sitting there, talking to some kids, and a teacher came up and yelled at them to get to their class. I of course just sat there, and she motioned for me to go as well, and that's when I realized she must have thought I was 12 or younger. I guess she didn't see my tattoos! I told her my age, and she couldn't believe it. I'm 26 now, and I'm easily mistaken for 18 or 20. I think part of it is looks, and part of it is my personality.

I look very young for my age. I am 28 years young and some people ask if I am still in high school. I also get carded.

What's amazing OP is that not only do you set a record, you're female! Not to be sexist, but women seem much more susceptible to visual effects of aging, especially photoaging.

My profile pic was taken this January; I was 29 at the time. I still get carded for liquor and, occasionally, lottery tickets, and I'm famous among people I know for being markedly young-looking.

I am terrified of growing old and have extensively researched how to preserve physical appearance. Sun exposure accounts for 70% of skin aging, and repeated facial expressions nearly all the rest. Since I was a teenager I have been avoiding sun damage completely-- staying out of it whenever possible, or on the few occasions when I have to be in the sun (like for a job), applying sunscreen. I *never* let my skin be exposed to the sun unprotected. And of course I am ASD so facial expressions don't come naturally. I'm winning this battle on both fronts. It's pretty surprising considering that I have abused a lot of substances including alcohol.

I`m 22 and I look 16. Everyone says that sometimes. I was somewhere 2 months ago and met this girl who was 21 and she looked 16 too. Her mother asked me what grade I was in and I said I wasn`t in school I`m 22, and she was like, OMG I thought u were 16! I was like, thanks I get that a lot! And the other girl was like, I feel your pain I always get that too! I was like, Pain? I LOVE it! I also act even younger than 16! I`m terrified of growing old too!

That may not sound sexist, but it does sound uncomfortably broad in generalization. There are several different skin types, and some people; men and women alike, inherit the kind that is quick to show age.

This may be true for some. I never used sunblock until I was in my 40s. I still look much younger than I am. What I believe contributes to this is two things; I have inherited this young looking skin from my ancestors, and I am an Aspie. My mother looked extremely young most of her life, and people would often get shocked to see that she had 9 children. Also, I once read about the skin types, and found that mine is the sort that ages very slowly, due to a number of factors which have nothing to do with skin care products, sun exposure, etc. Still, it is a good idea to take care of one's skin. And staying out of extreme sunlight is always a great idea!

The other day my family and I were at the store and the cashier, who remembered us from other times before, thought that I was my 13 yo daughter's sister and that my hubby was our dad. I'm 32 and my husband is 36. Last summer someone thought that I was my 9 yo old son's sister, too. Explains why sometimes people talk to me like a kid in that awful high pitched voice.

 I can relate to that! One summer, my 13 year old daughter and I were at a retreat. This guy came over and scolded us for sitting on the edge of an ornamental fountain. I was amazed that he would talk to me that way, and said as much. He asked where our parents were, and I pointed out that I was the parent and that I was with my daughter. He did not believe me!
