Usually, when someone asks me "How would you like to..." they aren't really asking if I would like to do it. I wish people would ask me to do things straight out.

Ah, irony. And the complexities of the Neurotypicals mind.

I remember as child when my mum asked to 'run a bath' to which I replied 'baths can't run'.

Same with 'draw the curtains', so I got out a pencil and paper.

OP made me smile, in the sense of appreciation. The fact that people are flawed and hardly 'eat their words' all the time.
