I'm the opposite. I hated movies with talking animals, because I found them unrealistic and uncanny valley. Animals do not talk! I did like movies focused on animals who acted realistically, though, such as the Beethoven series. But my absolute favorite was Animorphs, which is about a group of superheros who can turn into animals and are combatting an invasion of mind-controlling aliens. I found a lot of metaphors for my own life in how their enemies could look like anyone, and how no one knew about their secret battles and instead thought they were just goofy teenagers. And I really, really wanted to be able to turn into an animal - especially a cat. I also felt like my teachers were trying to get into my mind and make it work the way they wanted, so it was easy to imagine them as mind-controlling aliens.

I often did imagine I could turn into an animal. Applegate's description of a dog's world always seemed so beautiful to me.

Also, animals should only talk in cartoons. Talking animals in "real" movies only serve to annoy me.

Oh, just thinking about that makes me shudder. Talking cartoon animals are bad enough, but life-action talking animals? GET IT AWAY FROM ME!
