Well, I know someone who was deemed to look suspicious because he was trying to figure out where he was going - it just happened to be at a terrible time because of a drug bust, and ended up tackled by the police because after thing after thing going wrong. I know in that sort of situation I would have gone completely mute. That situation is why I've been printing off the card that is suggested by AANE.

I'd probably use a MedicAlert bracelet, myself (they are available in Canada for persons with autism).

I think we have all seen how much governments can be trusted. Then again we've been on-line, so they already know.

In all seriousness, I totally agree with the above posters. It could be great for an Aspie caught in a bad or unfairly stacked situation which could be avoided with a simple AspieCard(c) (I claim rights to that for Future use so don't even think about using it :wink:

)

I think that, if voluntary, this service could be of major help to alot of people

And, I'm serious about AspieCard(c), It's mine.

Every government? Really? Do you have a PhD in history or something, that you'd know enough about all the governments of the world to make such a sweeping statement?

Anyway, I was trying to make something similar for myself, but I can't find a succint way to describe Newson Syndrome without looking like a piece of work (slang in my area for a messed up person you don't want to deal with).

And, yes. I don't have a PhD, but I do spend way to much time reading and watching things about history. It's one of my obsessions. More like individual periods and places, but a lot of general history too.

I dunno... I can't get over the suspicion that some people are gonna overplay the aspie card. Literally. Or that when used in any sort of situation with authority it'll basically lead to us being treated as children. Of course that does beat being... well, beat. But eventually someone's gonna play the aspie card with the cops, then get violent or try to escape when given their personal space, and it'll all be over. Or worse yet, it could backfire and have us be perceived as potentially dangerous. Well, you at least, as I'm not diagnosed and don't plan to be.
