IMO since aspies are much more prone to anxiety disorders then most people (though anxiety disorders are the most common form of mental disorder even in the general public) it is a bad idea for someone who is an aspie to take a drug which can often cause anxiety. I know everyone's different and what works for some won't work for others. I have just had such a terrible time with stimulant medications that I must atleast advise people to watch themselves on it. I am one of many who felt they became a different person because of the drug, and I am still recovering from the anxiety that prior to using stimulant type medications was not present and is still very much present after having stopped the medication.

My body and mind definately do not agree with stimulant type drugs, more power to those who it does.....i wish it did- could be an extremely valuable tool.

Do you drink any kind of caffeine after you take the Adderall?

I've been reading this post as my daughter just started taking Ritalin.

Alderall and Ritalin are supposed to increase re-uptake of dopamine in the brain.

However they do not address Serotonin or Oxytocin deficits in autistic kids.

Day Three

Slept better last night. Worked 14 hours and got a lot of good work done, without experiencing any crash like yesterday. In fact I've been measuring my productivity obsessively using a timer/stopwatch for over a month and recording it daily in a spreadsheet. The last three days since taking Adderall XR have been the most productive in my spreadsheet, easily surpassing what I would normally accomplish in a week.

I've also noticed I'm feeling a bit more competitive, as if I'm now more aware of how others around me are performing and feeling a desire to keep up or surpass them. It's been many years since I felt such a sense of competitiveness and I'm not sure why it's suddenly come back, I guess I just feel less immersed in myself now. Socially I'm still seeing the same improvements, more chatty, but it hasn't helped other things like my aversion to eye contact or obsessive thoughts. Overall I'm extremely happy to be on this medication and I regret not knowing about it before!
