My mother used to say
"everyone is weird except for you and me, and even you are little bit weird"

I have no idea whose quote it was but I think it was quite true.

Perhaps they were born so, but after decades upon decades of squelching every last remnant of their individuality in order to better "fit in" are they that way any longer, in any meaningful sense?
