I often get confused by the l's and 1's One time on yahoo it took ten tries and after three it assumes you are defrauding them so it denied my request for an email address. I called a rep and they said basically "tough Sh-t" I now use hotmail

chadmaster: Whatthe?! After three tries it thinks you're defrauding them? It usually takes me three tries just to figure out what the bloody code is...

Granted, Hotmail's code isn't much easier to decipher (it's the one for which an example was embedded earlier in this thread). But at least they offer an audio alternative that I can put together with the visual to decipher it... and they don't think anyone who can't figure it out for a few tries is a scammer automatically, either.

i don't usually have a problem, although it ain't that easy. and let's not go down the "they're deliberately excluding autistics" road on this, eh? most people have never even heard of AS/autism.

Don't know if I'd even just say autistics-- a lot of the dyslexics (as one might expect) and even ADDers I've talked to online have major issues reading those things as well!

I always have a problem with these codes. I can't tell, sometimes, if they are upper or lower case letters and if there is a letter O or a zero. It takes me 2 or 3 times to get them right. Thank goodness they are different each time I try!
