Choking/Foreign objects being stuck in the throat, either myself or other people. I can't even watch cartoons where the characters get something stuck in their throats, and shows like Your Kid Ate What? and some of the stuff on medical shows like Untold Stories of the ER are worse than the scariest horror movies to me. I was unable to swallow pills for many years, but finally had to conquer my fear because I needed psychiatric help.

Yeah, that really is pretty scary stuff. It does not send me into panic mode, but for some reason the fact that people can die just by chocking on some food they are eating, well--really scary.

wow, that really is scary! I hope you are getting some help, if you really feel that bad.

I have a horrible fear of any stinging insect (wasp, hornet, bee), as well as dental procedures.

When I was really young, a lot of things. Now that I've past fifty years, nothing really.

I still hate bats though, but I'm not really afraid of them. They do startle me if they get in the house, but being startled is not quite the same as fear.

For me it's people. Sometimes all I have to do is think about certain people and my heart starts racing and I can feel the adrenaline and panic settling in. Luckily, I can calm myself down. Nothing in the world scares me like the thought of certain persons.

For me its fire I saw a horrible film once that was allegedly a children's film and a man was falling down a cliff on fire it triggered off my fear of fire.

Spiders although its more that they're creepy.

I have an intense fear of heights. I'm also afraid of sleeping in a room that's completely dark.

I'm terrified of fire. I'd never strike a match. It's more a fear of burn scars than anything else.

I also worry about sticky things, which aren't stuck where they should be. So, I detest elastoplasts (bandaids to those in the US) and stickers on fruit. Once removed, I will request that you put into the bin immediately, or I'll get really upset. That's a bit weird, I know. But, I don't want anything becoming inadvertently stuck to me and I don't spot it. The idea of that makes me feel physically sick.

I don't mind any sort of animal or insect, except slimy ones (snails, worms, frogs, etc). I remember freaking out as a child, when someone put some worms in my hand and when I accidentally touched a snail (it was in my dog's mouth, I thought it was a stone and tried to remove it). I was jumping up and down hysterically and everyone was staring at me.

Dying without having solved my social problems and made enough close friends to stop me feeling lonely.

I was going to say rejection by people I've reached out to, but I don't fear that as much as I fear the above. At least I don't think I do. Yet I usually avoid reaching out when there's any palpable risk at all, which will probably make the above happen. Things in the future are usually less scary than things in the here and now.

Having a panic attack.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Sharks...

ive gotten to close for comfort with those things... given my circumstances the potential for one to attempt to nibble off me in my lifetime is quite realistic... its already happened to a friend of mine... thankfully it didn't sink any teeth into him...

(These are not in any particular order)

Fires
Spiders
Vomiting
Humiliation
Snow
Loud sudden noises
Toddlers
Death

There are other things that I'm scared of, but these are what I'm VERY scared of and what takes over my life. I often have dreams about my fears. For example:-

A city riot causing major fires in the buildings
A spider crawling around on my bed or in my hair
Somebody coming into my house with a sick bug and giving it to me
Something happening to me what is humiliating me (like going out without a top on)
Snow being forecasted
Me being trapped somewhere knowing I'm definately going to die there but the death taking a long time to happen

Those are my true nightmares. The trouble is, they can happen.

Molluscs, silence, needles, wide open spaces in buildings and water.
