I have been known to say "Excuse me" to cats.

All the time. I do speak when spoken to though or when I have a question to ask. I just don't like to talk about things I am not into so I don't talk at all. At work I rarely talk to anyone during break. Sometimes I do want to talk but I don't know what to talk about.

I only go completely mute when I'm at a party sort of environment with loads of people I don't know around me, but that's selective mutism mixed with Social Phobia.

I usually would rather think than talk. It's not that I'm ignoring people, I just don't think to talk or respond. I'm sort of I'my own little Aspie world.

When it comes to friends, I've gone months without talking to them. I usually speak to my mother a few times a day. Especially since she's started watching Doctor Who with me. Plus I talk a lot to the pets here. Especially my cat. I talk more to the pets than people, actually. I know I've gone days without saying a single word before, though.
