A world without autism and other disabilities would be dull and boring. Thanks for starting the Eugenetics Movement, Hitler....NOT!

I also love my dark hair and dark eyes. Hitler will be rolling in his grave after I'm done typing this.

And just out of curiosity why did you decide to join the community you being an NT? I think that's great don't get me wrong just curious

Because I have a younger brother who is autistic and although I understand a lot of it anyway, I thought coming on WP would help me understand more about it when hearing about other people's experiences who have ASD.

When I said ''dull and soulless'' I meant that some threads on here seem to hint that NTs are all the same, and some seem to think that we don't have any problems at all just because we're more social, and that nothing in the world bothers us except aspies, and I've even seen in a thread before 'is crying when people die an aspie thing?' I don't know where somebody dragged that from, and these sorts of little things actually confuse me because NTs have emotions yet according to WP there doesn't seem to be anything we have emotions about. Also I read somewhere on WP that NTs don't have any interests, which we all do. That's part of how I make friends, is by sharing an interest or hobby.

People on the spectrum tend to have black and white thinking patterns and unfortunately generalize quite a bit. It's understandable that many people on these boards are liable to think about NTs in this fashion as they have been misunderstood and mistreated, and such experiences can lead to a strong bias against people who are not like them.

Personally, this annoys me to no end as well, as there are such broad variations of NT personalities to begin with, and there are NTs who will be more or less accepting of an ASD personality...the problem is, the people who make generalizations about NTs haven't met these people yet.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

A world without those of us with Asperger's would be a less diverse world. In fact, the world without any particular group of individuals would be a less diverse world. We should all accept one another and respect each other.

Hitler didn't start eugenics....Charles Darwin's half-cousin did. :) I think that's irony or something, although I'm not sure because I can't understand irony.

Luckily, Hitler and the other eugenicists didn't succeed, although it's been a long battle to get to the point we're at now, and we're still fighting just to be considered human beings, instead of misfits or dysfunctional. The whole eugenics movement was very bizarre. I just wrote a paper on it a few weeks ago, and I can't understand how people would believe that it was ok to sterilize or murder people because they were "different."
