Pi being irrational sounds unreasonable to me.

Take it up with whoever designed a universe wherein Pi is a mathematical constant.

The reason Pi is a constant is because of how we view Geometry and Calculus.

How else will people learn, except by asking questions?

I don't care how much they learn, only that they're annoying the crap out of me. :hmph:

Ah, so only your perspective matters? And ignorance is not a bad thing? :P

Hey, if someone asks me why something works the way it does, then I'm glad to inform them. If they're asking me why I have a certain poster on my wall, for example, that's where my annoyance comes in. Oh, I hope they have fun contemplating the vast stores of enlightenment contained within the words, "Because I just like it, that's why." Indeed, another swath of intellectual ignorance, successfully dissipated.

I don't mind explaining myself to an extent, but what I hate is when I have to continuously explain myself or describe an event to a crapload of people throughout the day... the same event or explain the same thing to multiple people, at multiple different times, throughout the day... I don't like repeating myself.

I also ask why quite a bit... And I f*****g HATE when people answer with "just because" or something similar(because I said so... god, I hate that one). That doesn't answer my damn question... And I hate the fact that people take any sort of questioning as a challenge. I'm not challenging s**t, I just don't understand, or I'm curious. I'm just naturally inquisitive, and that seems to bother certain people.

Strongly agree with both of those statements.

I have no problem dealing with "why" questions as long as they don't come too thick and fast. I generally like answering questions as long as I'm not preoccupied with other stuff. I also like it when others are happy to explain why this or that is so, without getting impatient with me.

I guess it can feel threatening if the questions are personal.....e.g. "why do you do x?" can easily imply that the questioner thinks I'm weird for doing x. Sometimes I feel inhibited from asking such a question because I don't want the other person to think that I doubt their wisdom or sanity like that. But often the reason I need to ask is because I simply don't know, and I haven't already concluded that they're wrong, otherwise why would I bother asking? I think sometimes people do ask "why" about personal things when they've already made up their minds that the answer is "because I'm a ret*d," and then they're just trying to trip me up, but in that case it's the malice I object to, not the question. And even then, I have the chance to make them think if I give them an unexpected answer. I don't like strings of "why" questions about my behaviour, because that feels like somebody's unpicking my life too much.

I like "why" questions. I seem to want and prefer more explanation than most do.

I don't know pi and see no reason to learn it as it does not interest me and has no relevance on my life. I'm not too good at math although at one time when I was younger I liked it because their was only one right answer and I didn't have to put things into my own words.

I like pie. Like this.

The value of Pi is constant, regardless of how we view anything.
