No, JohnyJohn, I'm not a moderator. If I were, you would see "Moderator" right below my username to the left. I s'ppose since though two of your questions are very similar, but are different, and the fact that the threads don't seem to be flaming (yet), nothing much bad may come of this. I only posted what I did earlier because these kinds of questions have been asked before, in much the same way you're doing it (multiples in short periods, the types of questions, and no reasons being given for them), and many have turned into flame wars.

Was just trying to help you avoid that is all.

I will not, unfortunately, answer questions like this without a good reason offered. Sorry.

I don't hate them, I just find them very hard to deal with.

No, I don't hate them.

They often annoy me though, even the nice ones. It's the way many of them expect other people to do things for them - I mean things that they could, with effort, learn to do themselves. Not things that are totally beyond them, I can understand wanting help with that. I do realise that it's not deliberate and that they can't help it; I feel like a bad person for admitting that this is how I feel.

All my life, people with mental retardation (I like how Americans can still call it that) have tried to befriend me - perhaps because they can sense that something is 'up' with me, neurologically, as well...but they end up using me, even when it's not intentional, they just get dependent. I know every MR person is an individual and I may yet meet others who are not like that.

This is partly why I really don't want kids. I see kids as being a bit like MR people, perhaps because it's taboo to resent kids, as well. It's the amount of care they need, which I feel obliged to provide. People seem to think I'm this really caring person, which I'm not. I'm just very understanding of people's flaws and weaknesses; that's not the same thing as actually wanting to nurture them, which I have no desire to do. I'm patient and non-judgemental but I'm not caring. I feel really guilty and like I ought to care more, though.

Sorry about the rant.

I do like Mentally Challenged people like I like all people. I knew a woman who was borderline Mentally ret*d and she was one of the nicest people that I've ever met. I also know a woman who has Down Syndrome and she's a very fun person to be with.

No, but you're rapidly falling beneath my consideration.

While I have no hatred at all for retardation, I find Johnny John's line of questioning interesting.

The reality is ASD is on a spectrum and a type of class system can develop where higher functioning individuals may feel a sense of "superiority" or "advantage" over less functioning individuals. This can (I am sure) lead to hatred if their feeling of insecurity with NTs may lead them (hypothetically) to transfer the bullying they receive from NTs to people less able to function than themselves. There is of course a category of bully who is a victim of bullying themselves.

The title of this thread could be better expressed then as: "Do you feel antipathy toward lower functioning individuals because others dislike you".

JohnyJohn, i warned you on the other thread to provide reasons as to why you are asking sensitive questions like this. it makes people angry and upset when you demand answers with no background explanation. most people on WrongPlanet have special needs and they don't need to see questions like this on the board.
