Im not usually quoted but it doesnt bother me that much.

Its odd Im the new guy at another board and people are trying to interact with me there and I dont get much attention here but I didnt come here looking for appreciation in the first place. I came to have a better understanding of myself/trying to improve in some areas...you know the drill and somehow ended up making a few friendships/with the mod position along the way.

At the start it was hard to see everyone interacting with each other but after sometime I made an effort trying to become included(started posting at some of the banter threads, joined a joke if I had something to contribute...)and somehow I became comfortable here and I no longer cared about who quoted my post or anything.

As for the thanks button you need to contact alex plank about it(you can even send him a message on fb)but dont get your hopes up because its unlikely to happen.

I am also seldom quoted--why I don't know, but it doesn't really bother me much. I like your posts BTW, they are always very clear and concise. :)

Please post a positive comment on my thread requesting a Thanks button! It's easier for people to do than quote posts if they just like what you've said, but it's very rewarding to see that people have thanked you, and to keep track of total number of thanks received if you're that way inclined, as I am :)

I did post a comment on your Thanks button thread, but I don't agree with you. I would prefer "agree" and "disagree" buttons instead, otherwise it is as pointless as a Facebook "like". Why are you trying to keep a tally of the number of "thanks" you have received anyway--seems strange?

As large as the forum is, it certainly doesn't encourage a long stay. In of itself you need a high post count just to become known; and ToM plays a negative role in dicerning whether someone needs encouragement, without that someone having to make it obvious.

At times you will see posted up about the "great effort and thought that was put into it and it was all unnoticed" and the comment that follows, "why bother," or "I quite doing that because no one replies to it."

Maybe some migrate to smaller boards.

That's strange, it seems to me as if everyone replies to everything. I have yet to see a thread started with zero replies. As far as encouraging a long stay, I spend way too much time on WP--I mean, I really need to log off and do other things but I am so fascinated by the posts here that I end up staying.
I don't know what ToM has to do with encouragement. I guess I don't understand what you are getting at.

Yeah, it annoys me too. It makes the pages really long and the information density on them very low.

You know you don't have to read everything, over and over again. I mean, you can it's your right but you don't have to.

I tend to agree with btbnnyr the threads can become unwieldy with excessive quoting, whether you read it or not it is irrelevant. As to the original question, it is so full of loaded language that I really don't want to answer it.

Even worse is when people quote someone, and change what's in the quote. I don't want someone's fail-and-AIDS interpretation of what I said being passed off as what I actually said.

Nothing actually against jackbus01. Just giving an example.

Hey, how and when did I misquote you! Where did that come from! If you have nothing against me then why did you say "I suck". :x

Hi, It quite a time that I post on this forum and every time I post something, I check if someone has quoted my post or not. Actually I don't really care if you agree or not, I just care if it is quoted or not. Most of the time, it's not and it's always a bit irritating for me, because I think that my posts are so great.

Am I an insecure b***h?

I saw the lack of quotes in this post and thought I'd quote you again.

Me, I just like replies. Quote are nice. On those forums that give you thanks that is awesome. Then there's a reputation meter and that is great to get full.

I should stop talking now because I've probably confused you.

You did not misquote me. I misquoted you as an example, and pointed out that I don't really mean it. I guess one thing I can't do to Aspies is joke about these things.

Personally, I prefer this kind of quote: the relevant part, but not changed.
