I say talk they way your want to talk, and any one who is so bent out of shape by that that they make a stink about it is the one with the problem.

Unless you are indeed an author writing, a mathematician, a head of state, ambassador, king or nobleman it seems somewhat out of place to use the royal we.

I could speak in such manner should I ever wish to but people would find it very odd and so I shan't.

Do you think it odd to pick nits about something as this?

Do you get any text messaging on your cell phone.... as a hazard guess I think not, but I believe it would really bother you if you did.

I noticed that some aspies on here were talking in the third person or using the royal we. This seems a little pretentious to me. What do you think? Why do they do it? Is it to mock other people and amuse themselves or is there some other reason?

I've been on here for over two and a half years, and that's not anything I've noticed much here at all. It is usually just one of us speaking for all of us (which we probably ought to avoid - OOPS! - just did it myself  ).

BTW: Great avatar. I've used that one myself on occasion.

EDIT: I have actually spoken with at least a couple that would use "me" in the place of "I" though.
