Are you actually tripping right now?

No. I've had an out of body experience recently however that helped me realise this.

I like being told by someone I love that I'm loved, at least at some point. I need the words to feel sure, but then I can put them together with what I've seen and then feel loved. Otherwise, it just seems like the other person is being nice. Also, words without deeds or with deeds that contradict seem clearly false. But deeds can mean anything from getting along together well to listening to me to trusting me with personal things to affectionate behavior to doing something nice for me. I don't need constant, big displays. I just need something to go by.

That sounds awful.
And unconditional love is worthless to me; I'd rather be loved for being worth loving.

He's right. It takes an altered perspective to see it. Not sure what to do with the information in daily life.

So are you worth it.

Am I worth it to my pets YES ! !! !! ! , if i did not get them from a shealter they would be stuck in a cage for the rest of the lives on seed and water you'd be supprised how many people (most) think this is A oK , than again perhaps it does not supprise you one bit

Since we are talking about pets doggie woggie all right ?

My dog is fine; it was her birthday yesterday.

I can rationally understand that certain acts are indicative of love.
My boyfriend always fixes my pillows so that I can prop up my feet when we go to bed (I have vascular degeneration), for instance.
I know my parents love me a great deal, or else they wouldn't support me.
But I still need to hear it expressed verbally sometimes.

I was largely blind to love for the first forty years of my life. I had friends but I couldn't feel their love. It's a special kind of loneliness that company can't cure.

Then I got a really good psychotherapist.

I was amazed when I realised how many people loved me. I found love in unexpected places: my diabetic nurse, the receptionist at a hotel. There is love in streets and schools and supermarkets.

So yes: Asperger's can make it difficult to be loved. But the good news is, you can learn it, and it's never too late.

If I don't hear it, I don't trust it. I felt that my ex bf felt it, I felt it so strongly it frightened me. But after I texted him I loved him and he never said it back, I couldn't stand the thought of it being one sided. I took my love and ran. If he had told me, I would never have left him.

This may seem like a horrible question but what is love exactly? No one has ever been able to give me an accurate and clear discription of what love is. It's probably a word that is too abstract for me to handle and the word love has been misused far too often as far as I'm concerned.

Is love the same thing as feeling affection and respect for someone or something? If so, my abilty to love is limited. According to the moralists of this world we are all supposed to love one another but what if you don't like people very much? I feel an enormous amount of affection and care for my cat and some family memberst but that's about it I'm afraid. I am able to respect others and I don't want to hurt or harm other people, but that's probably not what love is all about. Or is it?

It's something you do. When you make someone feel good without them wondering about your motives, or if it doesn't matter your motives because it's mutually beneficial like husband/wife. As autistics, the rare moments you feel safe around people will be when they love you. You have to be or appear to be a big person to love someone (not physically big, but bold).

It's pointless for some one with aspergers disorder to go in to relationship it's up their with putting Bill Gates Steve Jobs and a PS3 in a room and say "be productive" We all know well you would if your a gamer not much can come out of it more than likely it will end in tears.







so why bother entertaining the possibility.
